Happy New Year, Savers!
I hope you’re having a fun, safe, and meaningful holiday season filled with warmth, family, friends, and/or enjoyable solitude.
My family and I have had a good holiday season with lots to be thankful for. And, we’re looking forward to the new year ahead.
I’m popping in today to let you know how my money-saving meatballs came out for New Year’s. Not sure what I’m talking about? Read about the cookies I made to help avoid breaking the bank over the holiday season.
I chose this sweet-and-sour meatball recipe because I only needed 3 ingredients – and I already had them in my kitchen. No extra spending! That’s why, for us, they were money-saving meatballs.
Frozen meatballs, grape jelly, and ketchup. That’s it.
Super simple, delicious, and no extra spending – a definite win! After making the recipe, I felt the sauce still tasted a little too ketchup-y; so, I added 3 tbsp of white vinegar and a pinch of salt (both items already in our kitchen) to balance out the sweetness…Success!
Most of our meatballs disappeared with only a few left-over that we were able to enjoy on New Year’s Day.
So, before searching the internet for new, fancy recipes for parties and gatherings, check your pantry, fridge, and freezer first. Take a mental note of what you already have on-hand…then start your internet search for party snacks and holiday recipes. It’ll save you money – ALWAYS a plus… and especially helpful during the holiday season.
Happy cooking, Savers!
